On September 10-11, 2025, Mendel University in Brno hosted the first in-person meeting of the InnovPrecMed consortium, bringing together partners from universities, research institutes, and companies across Europe.
The two-day program opened with a welcome address by Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and Quality, Ondřej Mocek, followed by presentations from consortium members and discussions on the current state and future directions of InnovPrecMed.
Participants also explored strategies for training courses, mentoring, internships, and start-up support, highlighting the project’s commitment to building a strong innovation ecosystem.
Key sessions focused on:
introductions of partners from academia, research, and industry,
development of InnovPrecMed training modules,
approaches to engage students and staff,
supporting and scaling start-ups,
collaborative brainstorming on next steps in 2025 and beyond.
The meeting also included a lab tour at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and opportunities to strengthen professional connections and foster collaboration in an informal setting.
Consortium coordinator Prof. Andrew D. Miller emphasized the importance of cooperation: “This meeting confirmed not only the scientific, educational and innovation potential of InnovPrecMed, but also the strength of our partnership across sectors and countries.”
We thank all consortium partners for their meaningful contributions and discussions, and we look forward to continuing our joint work in the years ahead.
