From Protein Research to Precision Medicine: Meet MendelFOLD

How can understanding the way proteins fold and function help develop new treatments? Our latest Innovation Leaders video introduces MendelFOLD, a Brno-based biotechnology spin-off developing innovative computational tools for protein modelling, drug discovery and precision medicine.

Founded at Mendel University in Brno, MendelFOLD builds on years of scientific research to better understand how proteins fold, move and interact. Its technology aims to predict three-dimensional protein structures, identify hidden binding sites and uncover new opportunities for therapeutic development.

MendelFOLD is also an inspiring example of how academic research can evolve into a promising deep tech business. As part of the wider InnovPrecMed innovation ecosystem, the company is one of the startups supported through the project's innovation and entrepreneurship activities, helping bridge the gap between scientific discovery and commercialisation.
