The year 2025 marked an important milestone for the InnovPrecMed project, as partners from across Europe joined forces to strengthen innovation capacity in the field of Precision Medicine. The project brought together universities, research institutes, and industry partners with a shared ambition to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration in healthcare technologies.
InnovPrecMed aims to bridge the gap between science, business, and innovation. Through training activities, mentoring, and ecosystem-building initiatives, the project supports students, researchers, and professionals in turning scientific ideas into impactful solutions.
Key Highlights from 2025
Throughout the year, the InnovPrecMed consortium made significant progress in building the foundations for a stronger innovation ecosystem at participating universities.
Training and Capacity Building
Education and skills development were at the core of the project’s activities in 2025. InnovPrecMed introduced two new online training courses focused on Deep Tech Precision Medicine and Innovation, bringing together expertise from science, entrepreneurship, and business development.
These activities helped participants explore opportunities in biotechnology and healthcare innovation, while also encouraging them to think more deeply about how their ideas could develop into real-world projects or entrepreneurial ventures.
Supporting Innovation and Entrepreneurship
InnovPrecMed also focused on supporting innovators and entrepreneurs developing solutions in the rapidly evolving Precision Medicine sector, as well as in other disciplines.
Through the InnovLeaders Mentoring Program, participants received guidance from experienced mentors to help them refine their ideas and develop them into viable projects or business concepts.
2025 in numbers:
947 participants trained in Precision Medicine and Innovation
68 participants received mentoring and tailored project support
4 start-ups supported in their growth and development
2 Intellectual Property Rights applications submitted
These activities contribute to the broader mission of the project: helping innovators bring cutting-edge healthcare solutions closer to real-world implementation.
Strengthening European Collaboration
Another important achievement in 2025 was the strengthening of collaboration within the project consortium. Following the official kick-off meeting in June 2025, partners aligned on project objectives, work packages, and joint activities that will guide the project in the coming years.
Throughout the year, the InnovPrecMed team also participated in workshops and innovation events, building connections with universities, research organisations, and innovation stakeholders across Europe. Cooperation between the Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) within the consortium was also significantly strengthened.
Looking Ahead
While 2025 focused mainly on launching activities and building strong foundations, the coming years will see the InnovPrecMed project expand its impact. The consortium will continue developing training programmes, supporting start-ups and innovators, and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. By fostering innovation skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and cross-sector partnerships, InnovPrecMed aims to contribute to the development of next-generation healthcare solutions that improve the well-being of European citizens.
